New Hire Onboarding 

The following features have been added to New Hire Onboarding (NHO):

Automatic Name Population and Conditional I-9 Expiry Update for Standalone Supplement B Task

This enhancement adds efficiency to the Standalone Supplement B task by automatically populating the name of the office staff completing the task and conditionally updating the I-9 expiry date in the navigation. By mirroring functionality from the Supplement B, Reverification, and Rehire tasks, the update ensures consistency and accuracy in data handling for I-9 processing in the NHO Paperwork stage.

Parameter Addition

  1. Automatic Office Staff Name Population:
    1. The system now automatically populates the name of the office staff completing the Standalone Supplement B task, similar to the current behavior in the Supplement B, Reverification, and Rehire tasks. This removes manual entry requirements and improves task efficiency.
  2. Conditional I-9 Expiry Date Update:
    1. The I-9 expiry date in the navigation will only update if one of the specified document types below is selected during the Standalone Supplement B task, ensuring accurate and relevant updates:
      1. Foreign Passport with temporary I-551 Stamp
      2. Foreign passport with temporary I-551 MRIV
      3. Employment Authorization Document (I-766)
      4. I-94 or I-94a with Refugee Stamp
      5. RMI passport with Form I-94
      6. FSM passport with Form I-94
      7. Foreign passport for nonimmigrant in US as student
      8. List A Receipt
      9. Foreign passport, work-authorized nonimmigrant
      10. Machine-readable immigrant visa (MRIV)
      11. Temporary I-551 stamp
      12. I-94/I-94a
      13. Form DS-2019
      14. Form I-20
      15. Employment Authorization document (DHS)

Implementation Details

  • Navigation Synchronization: The I-9 expiry date will only be modified in the navigation upon selecting one of the eligible document types, preventing unnecessary changes.
  • Consistency Across Tasks: This feature aligns the Standalone Supplement B task’s functionality with the Supplement B, Reverification, and Rehire tasks, creating a cohesive and user-friendly experience.

This enhancement promotes workflow efficiency by automating office staff name input and ensuring that only relevant document selections impact the I-9 expiry date, ultimately contributing to accurate record-keeping and compliance.
