Overview
To improve visibility and task management efficiency, the Task Navigation panel now displays the number of tasks within each category. Previously, users had to open each category to determine whether tasks were present, which made it harder to prioritize and assess workload at a glance.
With this enhancement, task counts appear next to category names, allowing Users to immediately understand their workload and focus on the most critical areas. This update reduces unnecessary navigation steps, accelerates decision-making, and simplifies daily task monitoring without altering the underlying task logic or permissions.
Functionality
- Each task category in the Task Navigation panel now displays a numeric count indicating the number of tasks it currently contains, excluding All Tasks and Completed Tasks.
- Counts are shown adjacent to the category names, such as:
- Tasks Assigned Today 8
- Tasks Due Today 7
- Overdue Tasks 6
- Remaining Tasks 15
- Task counts are calculated based on the existing business rules for each navigation category and reflect only tasks assigned to the logged-in user.
- Counts automatically refresh whenever tasks are:
- Assigned, completed, reassigned, archived or forwarded.
- When due dates change.
- A task may contribute to multiple category counts if it meets the criteria for more than one category (e.g., a task assigned today and due today will appear in both “Tasks Assigned Today” and “Tasks Due Today”).
- If a category contains no tasks, its displayed count will be 0.
- Selecting a category shows the exact set of tasks corresponding to its displayed count.
Additional Notes
- Completed tasks are excluded from all active task category counts except for Completed Tasks, which displays its own count.
- The notification badge for Tasks defaults to the total number of tasks within the Remaining Tasks category.
- This enhancement does not change navigation behavior or filtering logic—it only adds visual counts for improved usability.
