  • This update aligns Zenople with the latest U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) changes to Form I‑9, Employment Eligibility Verification, and corresponding E‑Verify / E‑Verify+ updates.
  • The changes reflect updated statutory language, revised document descriptions, and an updated DHS Privacy Notice.
  • This ensures continued compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements effective July 31, 2026.

    • Support for the revised Form I‑9 (Edition Date: 01/20/25, Expiration Date: 05/31/2027).
    • Continued support for prior valid editions:
      • Form I‑9 (08/01/23 edition) valid until 05/31/2027
      • Form I‑9 (08/01/23 edition) valid until 07/31/2026
        • Employers using this edition must update electronic systems with the 05/31/2027 expiration date by July 31, 2026.
    • The fourth checkbox in Section 1 is updated to:
      • “An alien authorized to work”
    • Revised descriptions for two List B documents in the Lists of Acceptable Documents.
    • Updated statutory language and revised DHS Privacy Notice included in Form I‑9 instructions.
    • E‑Verify and E‑Verify+ citizenship status selection updated to:
      • “An alien authorized to work”, replacing “A noncitizen authorized to work.”
    • When an employee attests as “A noncitizen authorized to work” on certain Form I‑9 editions:
      • Employers must select “An alien authorized to work” during E‑Verify case creation.
    • E‑Verify cases will consistently display “An alien authorized to work.”
    • E‑Verify+ participants will see the updated edition and expiration dates reflected in Form I‑9NG.
    • For Web Services–based E‑Verify case creation:
      • Citizenship status is automatically updated to “An alien authorized to work” when the employee selects citizenship status number four on Form I‑9, even if the submitted value differs.
