The following terms are used throughout this manual and within the DDS application interface.
Term | Definition |
DDS (Dynamic Dashboard System) | The Zenople analytics and performance-tracking application that provides configurable dashboards, productivity goal management, revenue pipeline tracking, and business insights. Formerly known internally as the Sales and Revenue application. |
Widget | A configurable data visualisation element on the Dashboard. Each widget is an instance of a Widget Template, configured with a chart type, dimension, and display name chosen by the user. |
Widget Template | A pre-built data connection that defines what information a widget displays and which chart types are supported. Templates cannot be created or edited by end users — they are configured by administrators. |
Widget Template Type | The chart rendering style for a widget. Options are BarGraph, TrendLine, PieChart, DonutChart, and Table. |
Widget Dimension | The size a widget occupies on the dashboard. Currently 1×1 (compact/small) or 1×4 (wide). |
Dashboard | The personalised widget board in DDS. Each user's dashboard is private to their account. |
Task Doughnut Chart | A built-in widget at the bottom-left of the Dashboard showing the logged-in user's task status summary as a doughnut chart. Not user-configurable in terms of data source. |
Productivity Goal | A measurable target assigned to a person or office for a specific type of activity (e.g., "20 new assignments per month"). Progress is calculated automatically from Zenople system data. |
Productivity Template | The template that defines what type of activity a productivity goal measures. Examples: Assignment Count, Person Comment, Office Sales. There are 20 available templates. |
Productivity Goal Frequency | How often a productivity goal resets and re-measures. Options are Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly. |
Generate Goal Details | The button on the Productivity Board that triggers an immediate, on-demand recalculation of goal progress, bypassing the need to wait for the nightly batch. |
Productivity Board | The DDS navigation where productivity goals are created, monitored, and compared across people or offices. |
Top Leaders | The ranked leaderboard section on the right panel of the Productivity Board, showing the highest-achieving people or offices for the currently filtered goal and period. |
Staff Activity | A sub-board within the Productivity Board showing recent system activity (comments, tasks, records created) per staff member, without goal targets. |
My Productivity | The personalised productivity view showing only the goals assigned to or shared with the currently logged-in user. |
Goal Sharing | A feature that allows a productivity goal to be shared with additional users, making it visible on their Productivity Board views. |
Finish Line | The DDS navigation for managing Revenue Opportunities through a defined sales pipeline. Also referred to as the Sales and Revenue Dashboard. |
Revenue Opportunity | A record representing a potential client engagement or revenue-generating relationship being tracked through the sales process. Linked to a specific organisation. |
Sales Stage | The current position of a Revenue Opportunity in the sales lifecycle: Prospecting, Discovery, Proposing, Closing, or Win. |
Estimated Revenue | The expected revenue value of a Revenue Opportunity. Entered directly by the user in free-form mode, or computed by the system from Pay Rate and Markup in computed mode. |
Free-Form Revenue Mode | The mode where the user enters the Estimated Revenue figure directly without the system computing it. |
Computed Revenue Mode | The mode where the system calculates Estimated Revenue from a Pay Rate and Markup figure provided by the user. |
Pay Rate | The hourly or period pay rate of the worker being placed, used in computed revenue mode to derive the Bill Rate and Estimated Revenue. |
Markup | The multiplier applied to the Pay Rate to determine the Bill Rate charged to the client. For example, Pay Rate $20 with Markup 1.50 yields Bill Rate $30. |
Bill Rate | The rate billed to the client, derived from Pay Rate × Markup in computed mode. Represents the full charge before any deductions. |
Gross Margin | The difference between the Bill Rate and the Pay Rate, representing the agency's revenue margin on the placement. |
Revenue Period | The time horizon over which an opportunity's Estimated Revenue is measured: Weekly, Quarterly, Six Months, or Yearly. |
First Connect Date | The date of the first qualifying sales contact activity (call, email, face-to-face, etc.) logged as a comment on the linked organisation or person record. Derived automatically; not manually entered. |
Last Connect Date | The date of the most recent qualifying sales contact activity logged as a comment. Derived automatically from comment activity. |
Days Since Connect | The number of calendar days between the Last Connect Date and the current date. A high value indicates the opportunity may need follow-up. |
Days To Close | The number of days between the creation date and the Closed Date of a Revenue Opportunity. Measures the length of the sales cycle. |
Closed Date | The date a Revenue Opportunity was moved to Won, Lost, or Discard status. Note: Discard status does not automatically populate this field — it must be set manually when discarding. |
SalesConnect (Comment Category) | The comment category (and related categories: ColdCall, EmailConnect, PhoneCallConnect, FaceToFaceConnect) used to identify qualifying sales contact activities when calculating First/Last Connect Dates. |
Session Toggle | A UI control in the Finish Line that switches between showing the logged-in user's own opportunities only and showing all opportunities within the user's permitted scope. |
Insights | A DDS navigation providing pre-built tabbed analytics across Finance, Workforce, Jobs & Assignments, Recruiting, Trends, AR, Sales & CRM, and Productivity. |
Executive Dashboard | A DDS navigation providing a high-level KPI summary for senior leadership, distinct from the personalised widget Dashboard. |
Overnight Batch | The automated system process that runs each night to recalculate all productivity goal progress. Powered internally by the system's midnight job processor. |
