Overview
The Form 8879-EMP E-File Authorization feature enables employers to digitally authorize the electronic filing of Form 941 directly within ZenTax. Instead of requiring external documentation, the feature presents the IRS-required Form 8879-EMP within the application and automatically populates it with existing employer and filing data.
Users only need to provide their signature name and taxpayer PIN, after which the system securely records the authorization and enables immediate PDF download for recordkeeping.
The IRS mandates that Form 8879-EMP must be completed and signed before any Form 941 can be electronically filed. This form authorizes the Electronic Return Originator (ERO) to submit the return.
This feature ensures:
- Compliance with IRS requirements
- Elimination of manual documentation steps
- Seamless continuation of the e-file workflow without leaving ZenTax
