ZenTax Frequently Asked Questions
How do I open ZenTax?
- Sign in to Zenople. -> Your authorized Zenople home page opens.
- Open ETC/Shortcuts. -> Available applications and shortcuts are displayed.
- Select ZenTax. -> ZenTax opens with your available companies and filing areas.
See Getting Started with ZenTax.
Why can I not select Year or Reporting Frequency?
ZenTax loads these choices in order. Select Company first, then Form Type, then Year. Reporting Frequency becomes available after Year is selected.
See Quarterly Filing.
Why is my quarterly period missing?
The period may not be available for the selected company, form, year, or reporting frequency. Confirm each selection and verify that the source payroll batch is processed. If the latest information is still missing, request a sync or re-sync through Aqore Support.
What is the difference between Start and Continue?
Start opens a return that has not been started. Continue reopens work that was already started. Use Continue to avoid creating duplicate work.
What does Fix Issue mean?
Fix Issue means ZenTax identified required information or a filing exception that must be corrected. Open the issue icon, correct the displayed fields, and select Update.
Why is Add/Edit Information unavailable?
Federal form editing is unavailable while a submission is in progress or after the filing has been accepted. Wait for the result. Contact Aqore Support if the return is locked unexpectedly.
Does SSA Verification file my return?
No. SSA Verification checks employee information and is separate from filing the return. Complete the applicable federal filing task after verification.
Does TIN Matching file my 1099-NEC return?
No. TIN Matching checks taxpayer information and is separate from filing the 1099-NEC return. Complete the applicable federal filing task after matching.
What should I do when verification finds invalid records?
Open the correction list, compare the name and identification information with the source record, correct the source record in Zenople, process the applicable batch, and run verification again.
Why does year-end say that a valid batch was not found?
The year-end batch may not have been processed, or it may not contain an employee. Process the batch in Zenople with at least one employee and return to ZenTax.
What does Mark as Complete do?
Mark as Complete records that you reviewed and finished the current year-end task. It does not by itself submit a federal, state, or local file.
Can ZenTax submit my federal file?
Some federal filing screens provide an authorization choice. If you select Yes, follow the authorization and submission steps shown. If you select No, download the file and complete the manual filing process shown for your form.
What is Form 8879-EMP?
Form 8879-EMP is an authorization form that may appear during the Form 941 e-file workflow. Complete its required fields, correct highlighted errors, and save it before continuing.
Why does the Federal File screen ask for a BSO User ID?
Manual W-2 and W-2C filing may require an eight-character BSO User ID for the person responsible for the submission. Enter it only when the manual filing path is selected.
Why does Form 1095-C ask for a Transmission Control Code?
Manual Form 1095-C filing may require a five-character Transmission Control Code. Enter it only when the manual filing path is selected and the field is shown.
Does ZenTax file state and local returns for me?
State and local workflows may provide files for manual submission and a Submit action for tracking. Follow the applicable state or locality filing process and retain its confirmation.
Why does Local File display an additional-cost warning?
The Local File screen warns that local file generation has an additional cost. Confirm approval with your organization before downloading the file.
Where do my ZenTax totals come from?
Totals are built from the processed payroll or year-end information for the company, form, year, and period selected. Compare the totals with the corresponding Zenople records before filing.
What should I do if my totals do not match?
Stop before submitting. Confirm the company, form, year, period, and processed batch. Correct the source data in Zenople, process the batch again, and request a sync or re-sync if the updated totals do not appear.
What should I do if my session expires?
Return to Zenople, sign in again, open ZenTax, and reopen the filing. Any information that was not saved may need to be entered again.
When should I contact Aqore Support?
Contact Support when access, data synchronization, file generation, form locking, rejection messages, or repeated validation errors cannot be resolved using the displayed instructions. Include the company, form, year, period, screen, message, approximate time, and safe screenshot.
