# Auto Inactive previous Bank Account with a new Direct Deposit task

## Automatic Inactivation of Previous Direct Deposit Accounts upon New Account Addition via Task

When a person adds a new Direct Deposit bank account through a task, the system ensures only one active Direct Deposit account per person. If the person already has one or more active Direct Deposit accounts, these previous accounts are automatically marked as inactive upon the addition of the new account. The new account is then set as active by default. This automation simplifies managing bank accounts and reduces confusion or error in payment processing.

- **Detect Existing Accounts:** When a new Direct Deposit account is added via a task, the system checks if the person already has any active Direct Deposit accounts.
- **Automatic Inactivation:** All previously active Direct Deposit accounts linked to the person are automatically marked as Inactive.
- **New Account Activation:** The newly added Direct Deposit account is automatically set as Active, becoming the current valid bank account for deposits.

**Note:** Incase users would want multiple Direct Deposit accounts through the form, users are recommended to switch to use the Multiple Direct Deposit form instead.
