# Added Floating Add Task Button to Employee Portal Tasks Page

### OVERVIEW

Previously, the **Add Task** button on the Employee Portal Tasks page was only visible within the **Remaining Tasks** tile. Once all tasks were completed and the Remaining Tasks list became empty, the button disappeared — leaving employees with no way to self-assign new tasks from the portal.

A new **floating Add Task button** has been introduced at the bottom-right corner of the Tasks page. This button is **always visible**, regardless of whether tasks are remaining, completed, or absent entirely. Employees can now self-assign new tasks at any time without needing to first have an open remaining task.

### WHAT WAS CHANGED

| **Before** | **After** |
| --- | --- |
| The Add Task (+) button appeared only inside the Remaining Tasks tile | A floating (+) button now appears at the bottom-right corner of the Tasks page at all times |
| The button disappeared when there were no remaining tasks | The button is always visible, even when all tasks are completed or there are no tasks at all |
| Only one task could be added at a time through the tile button | The new panel allows selecting and adding multiple tasks at once, including a "Select All" option |

The **Add Task button has been removed from the Remaining Tasks card** — the floating button at the bottom-right corner is now the single point for adding tasks.

### HOW TO USE

**Self-Assigning a Task from the Employee Portal**

1. Log in to the **Employee Portal** and navigate to the **Tasks** page.
2. In the bottom-right corner of the page, click the **floating (+) Add Task button**.
  - This button is always visible, even if all of your tasks are completed.
3. A slide-in panel labelled **Add Task** will open on the right side of the screen.
4. The panel displays all tasks that are available for you to self-assign.
5. Select the tasks you want to assign to yourself:
  - **Check individual tasks** by clicking the checkbox next to each one.
  - Use the **Select All** checkbox at the top of the panel to select every available task at once.
6. Click **Save**.
7. The selected tasks are assigned to you and will appear in your task list.

### SETUP & CONFIGURATION

The following visible settings in the UI affect whether employees can use this feature and which tasks appear in the panel.

**1. ATM → Option → Office Entity → Task → Allow Portal Task Add**

In **ATM**, open the **Option** navigation, select the **Office** entity, and look under **Task** for **Allow Portal Task Add**.

- When **Allow Portal Task Add** is enabled, employees can see the floating **Add Task** button on the **Employee Portal → Tasks** page.
- If this option is not enabled for the office, the floating **Add Task** button will not be available to employees in that office.

**2. ATM → Settings → Workflow → Edit Workflow → Task Template Step → Allow Portal Access**

In **ATM**, open **Settings**, go to **Workflow**, open the relevant workflow in **Edit Workflow**, and in the **Task Template** step enable **Allow Portal Access** for the task.

- If **Allow Portal Access** is enabled for the task in the **Task Template** step, that task can appear in the self-assignment panel.
- If **Allow Portal Access** is not enabled, that task will not appear in the panel.
